Description:
The environment and humanity are deeply interconnected. Vital elements such as air, water, and food are essential to our survival. When these resources are polluted or destroyed, our health inevitably suffers. As the saying goes, “Prevention is better than cure”—we must actively protect the environment and value the natural resources that sustain us.
This artwork conveys the theme of environmental destruction through the imagery of a ship emitting exhaust fumes, leaking oil, and discharging wastewater, all of which poison marine life. Beneath the seemingly polished surface lies a hidden cost—paid by both the environment and human health—highlighting the heavy price of modern progress.

This artwork illustrates the impact of air pollution on human health. On one side, it shows a polluted environment with dark skies, factories, cars, and other sources of human-made air pollution, symbolizing the harmful effects of pollutants such as PM2.5, ozone, and NO₂, etc. Conversely, the other side presents a clean, natural environment, highlighting healthy organs, greater happiness, and the benefits of clean air. My inspiration comes from the urgent need to protect public health through green energy and environmental awareness. The medical concept focuses on how air quality affects major body systems and overall health.

The eye’s lens holds the most water in the human body, and the Eye of Horus from ancient Egypt is a symbol of healing and life. That’s why I chose it as the main idea for this piece.
Originally, the Eye of Horus didn’t have an iris, but I added one using blue and green to represent Earth. I wanted it to look like a pool of water full of life.
In the four corners, there’s a butterfly, a fish rubbing, and a trilobite fossil. These show that water doesn’t just support human life—it’s helped all living things on Earth, from ancient times till now. The syringe in the lower right is a symbol of how water plays a role in both life and medicine.

In the process of learning medicine, we are all standing on the shoulders of giants. When studying acupuncture, I must first become familiar with the anatomical structure of the muscles as well as the pathways of the meridians. With this foundational knowledge, I can accurately locate acupuncture points in the human body and help patients relieve their discomfort.

In this hand-drawn piece, a girl sits quietly, her mind crowded with thoughts of love, school, money, health, and family. Each symbol reflects a silent weight unseen, but deeply felt.
Inspired by the pressures young people silently endure, this artwork explores mental health as a vital yet often ignored aspect of medicine. By blending soft imagery with emotional depth, it presents a unique perspective: that healing must include the mind, not just the body.
Through simplicity and symbolism, this piece speaks to anyone who’s ever felt overwhelmed but kept going anyway.
Emotion and Health.

Medical theme: Environment and Healthcare
This artwork was inspired by Edvard Munch's 𝑇ℎ𝑒 𝑆𝑐𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑚. It reflects the growing tension between environmental destruction and human health. I imagined how a doctor might feel when facing not just disease, but also the pollution.
The doctor in the middle screams in despair as factories, garbage, and dirty water fill the background. It feels like no matter how much medicine helps, it is not enough if we keep damaging the earth.
I hope this reminds people that protecting the environment is also protecting ourselves.

Healthcare professionals are like artists full of creativity and wisdom. Unlike traditional artists, they create their masterpieces on the most precious canvas of all — the human body. Scalpels, syringes, and probes become their brushes, and they paint hope and vitality into flesh and bone. Under their skilled hands, an electrocardiogram transforms into a vibrant work of art. Teeth become delicate sculptures. Newborns are given rich and colorful lives. Once-silent hearts beat again, blooming with beauty like flowers in full blossom.

This artwork is inspired by Botticelli's 《The Birth of Venus》. It conveys the idea that healthy exercise and eating habits can bring about a rebirth of the body. The aim is to encourage everyone to adopt good dietary and fitness routines so that they too can radiate beauty and vitality, just like the goddess Venus.

Tilte: the brain of a long term insomniac.
Description:
This person has been suffering from insomnia for many years due to the large amount of stress of daily life.
The edge of the brain constitutes of lianas represents its resilience. In the midst of insomnia, the brain develops a protective mechanism that makes it apt to recovery. But this mechanism can fail in a certain period of time.
The green part made of wild grass represents the part of the brain that still functions but not so productive.
The frontal lobe, the most effected, is made of dry leaves. It represents the instability of emotions, inability to make good decisions and isolation behavior. Consequently, the person resorts to abusive smoking.
Lost of creativity and productivity is represented by different variety of flowers dropping out of the brain.
As insomnia gets worse, the person plunges deeper into darkness, and the light (opportunities of life) is shrinking.
Insomniacs are suffering, they need professional assistance.

This artwork depicts a fetus gently curled within a single droplet of water, floating amidst a dreamlike, flowing universe. The background evokes both the vastness of space and the warmth of a mother’s womb—representing the unknown, the beginning of life, and the hope carried within. The water droplet symbolizes the nurturing protection of amniotic fluid, essential in early human development. From a medical perspective, this piece emphasizes the indispensable role of water in sustaining life, healing, and forming the very foundation of human existence. Water is not just a physical necessity—it is the cradle of life.

The topic I chose was Environment and Healthcare. Although we talk about how global warming, littering, co2, and chemicals affecting our health, not much is said about the environment in clinics or hospitals affecting us. As a dental student, I want to raise awareness how the treatments we provide can affect our own health. For example, inhalation of fine particles or chemical vapors (like formaldehyde, glutaraldehyde) over time may contribute to chronic bronchitis or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Dental procedures (like drilling or ultrasonic scaling) generate aerosols that may contain bacteria, viruses, and fungi, leading to respiratory infections.
The fog demonstrated in my drawing explains the chemical substances and bacteria dentists are constantly exposed to. Therefore, we must wear medical masks during patient care. Even if we do wear medical masks we can still be affected, but it’s better than nothing.

My inspiration came from the historical treatment modalities that traditional medicine offers. Central to my concept is stick moxibustion, which has a long history of being used to treat many diseases since ancient times. From this, two plumes of smoke emerge, resembling a double helix. Incorporated into the smoke are other elements of traditional medicine, such as qigong, acupuncture, and some famous medicinal materials. While some of these are no longer used, many herbs are so common they can be found in our kitchens. At the end of the day, history and culture continue to have tremendous value in our pursuit of health.

This artwork reimagines the iconic Mona Lisa, placing her at the center of a stark environmental contrast. On the left, she is trapped in a polluted, industrial world—wearing a spacesuit, shedding a tear, and surrounded by lifeless land, trash, and dying animals. On the right, she lives in harmony with nature, surrounded by clean rivers, blooming flowers, and thriving wildlife. The transformation of her surroundings reflects the choices humanity faces today. Through this modern interpretation, the Mona Lisa becomes a symbol of both warning and hope—reminding us that if we continue to harm the Earth, we may one day be forced to survive in artificial environments. The time to act is now, before the natural beauty of our world fades away.

This artwork is inspired by the idea that the human body functions like a grand symphony, with each organ playing a unique and irreplaceable role. The brain is depicted as a conductor in a tuxedo, symbolizing the central nervous system that coordinates and directs bodily functions. The heart takes the role of the drummer, rhythmically beating to represent the circulatory system that continuously pumps blood throughout the body. The lungs are transformed into a majestic pipe organ, illustrating the vital process of respiration that sustains life.

The theme I chose for my artwork is "Disease and Hope."
I believe that love is one of the most important elements that make up our world. At the top of this painting is Asclepius, the god of medicine, holding his staff entwined with a serpent—a symbol of his great compassion for humanity. In the center, a figure on the brink of death represents the cruelty of disease. At the bottom lies the origin of one of the deadliest pandemics in human history—the Black Death.
What I hope to convey through this artwork is that whether it's for family, friends, or even complete strangers, the care and love people show for one another—these small acts of love—can ultimately come together to form a greater love. To me, this kind of love is one of the most precious things that humanity possesses. Undoubtedly, it is through the hope brought by these small acts of love that we are able to overcome even the most devastating illnesses again and again.

Title: “First Touch”
This artwork captures the tender moment of a first-year resident (PGY-1 doctor) gently holding a newborn, wrapped in a sterile blanket. It symbolizes not only the fragility and promise of new life, but also the deep compassion and responsibility carried by those in the medical profession. The doctor, dressed in full protective gear, reflects the reality of modern clinical practice—where barriers exist, yet care and empathy persist. Inspired by the spirit of medicine, this piece honors the profound connection between physician and patient, even in their very first encounter. It is a tribute to the love, dedication, and quiet strength that define the heart of a healer.

The Miracle of the Human Body
This piece explores the delicate balance between life and death, symbolized by the skeletal hand gently cradling a human skull. The exposed brain, intertwined with vibrant flowers, represents the potential for growth and creativity even in the face of mortality. The flowers emerge from the skull’s cavities, signifying how the physical limitations of our bodies can become a source of strength and inspiration, transforming the constraints of reality into the nourishment for new life.

In this drawing, a patient sits quietly on a hospital bed, surrounded by the stillness of a dimly lit room. The left side of the scene is cloaked in shadow, where an IV stand and medical monitor hang silently on the wall — stark reminders of illness and the challenges that come with it. In contrast, soft light streams in from the window on the right, gently illuminating the patient's face and body. This light symbolizes hope and the possibility of healing.
On a small bedside table rests a blooming flower — a delicate yet powerful symbol of life, resilience, and quiet perseverance. The patient’s expression is calm but determined, their eyes fixed on the light beyond the window, revealing a flicker of warmth and anticipation. A cross subtly visible through the window reinforces a sense of redemption and spiritual hope, as if the patient sees not just light, but the promise of something greater.
This work honors the strength found in vulnerability and serves as a quiet reminder: even in the midst of pain, hope can take root, blossom, and shine. The composition captures an intimate moment of reflection — where illness and recovery, despair and courage, coexist in a single breath.

This illustration fits in the theme of Medicine in Culture. My inspiration came from the various effects of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). In my drawing, there are three scenarios representing three categories of TCM. The upper left represents pungent and warm-natured drugs that relieve exterior syndrome. The upper right represents pungent and cool-natured drugs that clear heat. The bottom represents drugs that promote blood circulation by removing blood stasis. I hope this work draws people's attention to the splendid world of TCM.

Attending my favorite singer’s live concert last month left me feeling empowered and inspired to explore why live music feels so impactful.
Recent studies have confirmed that the wide-ranging health benefits of live music, from physical well-being to enhanced mental health. A key concept is collective effervescence—the shared emotional energy experienced when people come together for a common purpose. This sense of unity fosters greater happiness and a deeper sense of meaning.
Live concerts uniquely combine music and social connection, both of which positively influence brain function. Research shows that music enhances creativity, memory, alertness, and mental clarity. Live performances, in particular, have been linked to improved cognitive and emotional health.
In summary, live music is more than entertainment—it is a powerful force that promotes connection, well-being, and personal growth. As part of a healthy lifestyle, it offers emotional release, social bonding, and mental stimulation, making it a vital component of holistic health.

In my view, physical therapy is one of the most underestimated fields in healthcare. Many people fail to recognize the essential role we play and often confuse our work with that of other departments. To raise awareness and clarify our contributions, I created this illustration to explain what physical therapy is. We have the ability to transform the lives of injured or ill individuals by helping them regain movement and manage pain, guiding them from being confined to a bed to sitting, standing, walking, and even running again. Therefore, our work is also vital in restoring their quality of life and helping them return to normal activities. Thank you!

My creative inspiration is around the importance of vascular health.
The entire composition of this image is a perspective view of a blood vessel. Initially, the blood vessel is spacious and clean, with red blood cells appearing joyful. However, due to unhealthy lifestyle habits, such as consuming greasy or spicy food, lack of exercise, drinking, and smoking, the blood vessel becomes clogged, making it difficult for red blood cells to pass through. The red blood cells then appear gloomy.

My theme is “Art of life”. How life comes into action and it evolves as we grow, before and after both have life but by knowledge. My idea is “Preaching knowledge”. I try to give idea that how inside our system machinery works as body. While we have more and more knowledge about ourselves outside the body also. But ultimately everything belongs to us.
